Recharge and reconnect to what’s most important

Enjoying a sunrise walk on the beach with my son.

I took a full week off work and social media to recharge, get immersed in nature, and create awesome memories with my family.

My away message greeted anyone who reached out via email or social.

Notifications on my cell were turned off, so I wouldn’t be distracted from my family and exploring the beauty Topsail Island had to offer.

I didn’t pack any business or self-improvement books to read. (Just one lovely fiction murder mystery to indulge in.)

But I did SO much that recharged me.

I did … walk on the beach, swim in the ocean waves, paddle on the sound, catch fish, watch dolphins, and search for shells and shark teeth.

I did … watch my little son laugh and run in pure joy along the beach and go wild over finding crabs.

I did … create unforgettable memories with my husband, son, mom and mother-in-law.

I did … treat my body to the movement, fresh air and food it loves most and felt it grow stronger every day.

I’m now back to building the business I love and serving the clients whom I love, along with handling all the million never-ending things to do. My breaks provide such important moments to fuel up and reconnect to what’s most important in my life.

We all need these moments.

So please, take care of yourself and …

  • Give yourself permission to take a break every single day.

  • Give yourself permission to be fully 100% present in the moment with your family.

  • Give yourself permission to fully unplug once a year.

The reality is that your work will never be done. Your “to-do list” will never ever be empty. It will all be there when you come back.

Take it on with more energy, focus and joy by charging up rather than depleting yourself.
